Having moved to Spain to escape the cold winters in The Netherlands, it might not seem very reasonable to ride my bike to the high mountains in the middle of winter. So that is exactly what I did, I booked accommodations, made a route and started riding.

The first day I rode from Girona to Andorra, a ride mostly on smaller roads with a fair bit of elevation. The scenery changed with every kilometre and was absolutely stunning.
I stayed the night in an Airbnb and left the next morning to head into the French Pyrenees. I had never been in this part of France and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this area is. Just after sunset, I finished in a small village in France where I would spend the night. After struggling to find a meal and finally settling on some noodles with chocolate I went to sleep.
The final day would bring me over the French Pyrenees back into Girona. I opted again for the smaller roads and routes I had never ridden to bring me back to my apartment.

It might have been only three days of riding on just a road-bike and staying in Airbnb’s, but it was a great experience nonetheless.
